Why does everyone seem to want to do my job? When I first started it wasn't a cool job. In fact, it was about the least cool job on the film crew. Now, apart from the director, it's one of the coolest. I'm a Food Stylist. Do you know, women are leaving over-paid jobs in the city to do a Pru Leith course so they can spend a year assisting someone like me to - if they're lucky - end up arranging mezzuna leaves on a plate for BBC Good Food Magazine. What's going on?
I blame all these celeb chefs.
The good news is, only 1 in 10 of them are any good. The rest will just go on peeling potatoes in the back room and then hopefully go back to their cosy jobs in the city.

Next week the husband and I are flying to Bordeaux to view a house.
We can't afford to buy a house in France and it's mad to think of it, but if we don't do it now we never will. All our friends who have seen the website pictures think it's very 'us'- must be because it's falling down.
I'm a Food Stylist and work all over the place. Last week I was in Newcastle. My God, it's trendy there. There isn't a building that isn't lit in changing colours and there's a bar every five paces. Their Millenium bridge makes our London one look like a plank over a stream.
Next week I'm in Peckham doing the food for a baby food packaging shoot.
In a couple of weeks I'm in Moscow doing a TV commercial for mayonnaise. Everyone wants to do my job, I get calls all the time from women who've left sensible jobs to try and break into my world.
